Grade 5 handball's rules

There are seven players on each team (six court platers and one goalie). The goal area line, or 6-meter line, is the most important line. No one exept the goalie is allowed to stand in the goal area. Players may jump into the area if the ball is realized before landing in the area.



The game consists of 2, 30-minute halves with 10-minute halve-time.



A player is NOT allowed (FOUL)...

1. To run with the ball more then 3 steps (walk).

2. To hold the ball more then 3 seconds (time).

3. Double dribble.

4. To endanger an opponent with the ball.

5. To pull, hit or punch the ball out of the hands of an opponent.

6. To contact the ball belo the knee.

7. To dive on the floor for a rolling or stationary ball.



7- Meter Throw (penalty): The 7-meter throw is awarded when...

1. A foul destroys a clear chance to score.

2. A court player intentionally plays the ball to his own goalie in the goal area and the goalie touches the ball.

3. A defensive player enter his goal area to gain an advantage over an attacking player in

possession of the ball.



Punishments

1. Progressive Punishments: Pertain to foul that riquied more then just a free-throw.

2. Warnings (yellow card; 2-minute suspension): The referee gives only one warning (yellow card) to player for rule violations and a total of three to a team. Exeeding these limits results in 2-minute suspensions therafter.

3.Disqualification (red card):
A disqualified player must leave coart and bench, but the team can replace player after the 2-minute suspension.
